I am quite new to all of this but have been reading a lot on TUA and Kory's Substack, along with many other sources. I have my two bottle set with HCL and am all ready to begin Protocol 1000 sometime later this week. Here are the things I'm not sure about:
1. Taste. I have read many places about the taste of MMS being a big detractor. I have been experimenting and getting used to this over the past week or so. I've taken several 3 drop doses and was surprised at how mild the taste was. I was expecting it to be quite strong. I figure either what I purchased is in some way not fresh enough or all those reports of a really bad taste come from times when higher doses were more routine. Any thoughts? Should I return the bottles I have? I do get a color change and a definite chemical smell when the two combine.
2. Water - volume. I've been trying to drink a lot of water in the past few months. Do I need to try to limit the amount of water I consume while on the protocol?
3. Water - type. Most sources I've read simply speak of mixing 4 oz of water into the solution. One place emphasized using distilled water. Is this important? I have an RO machine and that is the water I typically drink.
4. Probiotics - I know it's good to stay way from anti-oxidants and basically all supplements during the dosing window plus some time on either side. What about enzymes and probiotics? Should those also be taken only at night after all dosing is good and done?
5. Daily mixture. While all my practice days have involved making 1, 2, and 3 drop doses, I do go into the office one day a week. My office is wide open with many people around me. I'm not yet comfortable with setting up a chemistry lab for all to see. So I'm thinking to do the one-day-at-a-time mixture on my office days and just slip in a quick nip every hour. (I could probably mix 1-2 fresh mixtures in the am before I leave the house. so not all doses would be from the larger mixture.) However, my impression is that the full day mixture isn't nearly as good as the fresh mixtures, so I'm wondering about being seen as a mad scientist and thinking it may be worth it.
Thank you so much!!

Hello,

Don't get me wrong, I've come close to death, and that's when the taste wasn't an issue, but taking it daily, The taste is an issue...LOL.
It's best to use distilled water, in my opinion, as there's no pathogens in distilled water for the MMS to attack and destroy.... Hence weakening the solution. While any juices with ascorbic acid mitigates the efficacy of MMS, there are a few brands out there that don't have added ascorbic acid that I have found. Make the MMS more palatable. KADEM grape juice is one. Making MMS too far in advance will weaken its efficacy as well.
It's always best to take MMS a few hours away from other products, such as vitamin C, which pretty much inactivates MMS. At least that was my understanding, unless somebody has discovered something since I don't know.

I've read about the Herx reaction and considered myself to have a mild case of that around day 3 or 4. So I'm trying to remember to take activated charcoal before bed. I thought it would settle down in a day or two, but I am experiencing a constant sour stomach (and yucky taste in my mouth) and my throat feels raw. Good honey before bed seems to help my throat. I cut my dose down today to try to get rid of the sourness in my stomach. I'm hoping it will go away soon if I stick to just 1 or 2 drops.
I'm still curious about whether probiotics and digestive enzymes should only be taken well away from my doses.

When I first started doing MMS many moons ago, I didn't have an aversion to The taste, but like Jim humble, after few months I developed a horrible aversion to The taste. It literally nauseates me. I started using it exclusively in colonics and enemas, no taste problem.

Please tell us which MMS acid activator you are using. HCL 4% is the perferred acid when making MMS1. And what is your hourly dosage?
Try not to smell the CLO2 gas as that will enhance the bad taste.
Have you considered taking CDS instead of MMS1?

With regards to hydration: Should I try to drink more water before and after or can I sip water through dosing hours?
Thank you.

Hello, I've posted a couple times before, but haven't gotten a response.
I was diagnosed with MS in 1999, I've done well treating myself naturally up to this point. I have been using MMS to purify my water for years.
I am now 58 years old and have experienced some possible relapses. I have an intense pulsation right above my abdomen and also in the center of my head which makes my vision pulse as well. The severity fluctuates. I am currently on day 4 of P1000. So far, so good. I have a small breakfast and begin my doses 1 hour afterward and don't eat again until 1 hour after the last dose. You can eat low antioxidant snacks between 20 and 30 minutes after ingesting a MMS1 dose. No coffee or tea before or during dosing hours. My mouth gets very dry and my tongue turns white.
With regards to hydration: Should I try to drink more water before and after or can I sip water through dosing hours? I would drink more water about 20 minutes after ingesting a MMS1 dose. Consider making Sole' salt water. See attached PDF files.
Thank you.

Importance of Stomach Acid
Published on: April 5, 2026
You have heard it said, “You are what you eat”, but in my opinion, it’s more accurate to say “You are what you absorb.” Stomach acid plays an important role in what nutrients you absorb from the food you eat. When someone is deficient in stomach acid the vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and other nutrients …

The following is from Jim Humble, taken from the MMS Health Recovery Guidebook.
